Naturally
This is a one to one four hour course held at JM Creative's offices in Cardiff, run by John Morgan and Frank Lincoln and will be suitable for both Welsh and English language broadcasters.
Prior to the actual course, each attendee will submit examples of their work on video or audio cassette, so that the Course Leaders have the opportunity to make their own initial assessment of the individual's strengths and weaknesses. It will then be possible to discuss with line managers whether they concur with these assessments.
On the actual day, each individual will complete a brief Self Assessment form, giving details of their duties, which of these in their opinion they perform "naturally" and which they do "unnaturally".
There will then be a brief assessment of the tapes which have already been submitted, and a comparison made of the individual's self assessment against the opinions of the Course Leaders - if they tally, then we are already on the same track, if they do not, then it could well be indicative that the individual's own critical awareness needs to be developed.
Following the analysis, work begins immediately on those areas in need of improvement and development, utilising specific and proven exercises and techniques:
- How to speak naturally - eliminating senseless repetitive speech patterns.
- How to breathe naturally.
- How to walk and talk naturally on camera.
- How to use hands naturally.
- How to read portaprompt naturally.
- How to interview naturally.
